Animation effects are particularly useful for demonstrating process diagrams and the relationships between elements within complex conceptual frameworks.
Animation effects are best viewed using a laptop and digital data projector. However animations can also be presented story board style - one element at a time.
Participatory training activities
Course guides include a variety of training activities. These include group tasks of different kinds and are based on analysis of case studies and scenarios and interaction using role plays, simulations and problem posing methods.

Case studies and scenarios are a key component of our training approach. These range in complexity from short one pagers through to detailed cases that involve substantial research.
The DLA/DANCED programme on integrating environmental planning into land reform was developed around selected case studies in Mpumalanga and Free State provinces. View a from a five day course introducing Environmental Issues in Land Reform.
A course in the same programme on the Environmental Dimensions of Integrated Development Planning involved the design of in depth town and district scenarios that combine text and maps as the platform to support a range of linked training activities.
